A PicoCricket is a tiny computer that can make things spin, light up, and play music. You can plug lights, motors, sensors, and other devices into a PicoCricket, then program them to react, interact, and communicate.

For example, you can make a cat and program it to purr when someone pets it. Or you can make a birthday cake and program it to play a song when someone blows out the candles.

The PicoCricket Kit is similar to the LEGO MINDSTORMS robotics kits. MINDSTORMS is designed especially for making robots, while the PicoCricket Kit is designed for making artistic creations with lights, sound, music, and motion.

The price of a single PicoCricket Kit is $250.

The Swiss are highly regarded for their precision pen knives. And now they’re taking things one stage further by fitting 13 essential items into a precision pen!

Constructed using Aircraft Grade Alloy, this sleek bit of kit includes a flat screwdriver, hole puncher, steel file, short cutting blade, ear pick, nail remover, long cutting blade, tweezers, phillips screwdriver, steel fork, saw and a writing pen. (Kitchen sink not included).

The pen un-twists into three cylinders, each with storage slots to hold the various blades. The two knurled cylinder joints also contain tools on each side. Made out of a rugged yet lightweight aluminum alloy, the Swiss Military Pen is great for campers, hunters, do-it-yourselfers, repair people and gadget-levers.

The pen comes in plastic case with full operating instructions, its size is 14cm and the pen is refillable, but you’ll probably use the other functions lot more than to write something with this pen 😛

The price of the Swiss Military Pen is about $23.
