Tired of that same old monotonous water? Bored with water that doesn’t look like futuristic alien mouthwash? Need to make your midnight bathroom appointments more exhilarating? Then you need to get the blue LED faucet attachment. You can turn any faucet in your home into a streaming blue lagoon of techie-bliss in just minutes. How does it work? Just attach to the end of your faucet (universal adapters included), and when the water flows through the magic chamber, it simply turns on the blue LED array and illuminates the stream with a soothingly powerful crystal blue hue.

This is a beautifully detailed galleon complete with full rigging, skull and crossbone bedecked sails, gunnels bristling with canons, and even a “firing” canon in the prow, is if not quite The Black Pearl, at least the coolest and most original RC boat to hit the pond this century. The paintwork is wonderfully detailed and it all looks very rough and rustic, which belies it’s rather zippy turn of speed.

The Remote Controlled Pirate Ship is powered by twin props, there’s a button on the remote that makes the canon rise, emit a sort of banging noise and glow red – it doesn’t actually fire anything as that would probably choke fish and alarm any ducks in the area. At 41cm long it’s a mighty ship, with rigging, sails, gunnels, the whole malarkey – a wonderfully regressive step forward (if that’s at all possible) in RC fun.

The price of the Remote Controlled Pirate Ship is about $72.

The WET Lamp is an elegant and playful series of glass lamps with an alluring water-submerged light bulb at its center. Putting an exposed light bulb in water certainly raises some eyebrows, but it also creates an intriguingly simple dimmer switch. When a thin silver rod is slid into the water, the WET Lamp turns on and becomes progressively brighter as the rod is submerged.

Despite its precarious concept that might seem even weird for some of you, the Wet lamp is a completely safe and isolated system of low voltage power. So you shouldn’t be worried of electrocuting yourself while turning on or off the wet lamp

The price of the Wet Lamp is $199 for the smallest model.

OK, so generating electrical power from water might not require quantum math, but it is pretty darn interesting. And it’s nice to see science and engineering play nice together to bring folks like you an attractive desktop clock that is powered solely on water (or really any electrolytic fluid).

The water clock will display the time and date in clear easy to read numbers just moments after you fill the liquid reservoirs in the back with the liquid of your choice. And you won’t have to refill them for weeks, the only thing is that you’ll have to be careful not to spill the water by incidentally hitting the clock…

How does it work? Magic mostly. And a little bit of science too. The internal converter simply extracts electrons from water (or other liquid) molecules and provides a steady stream of electrical current acting as a fuel cell to generate power to the clock. And no, this isn’t a hydrogen fuel cell powered clock, still not that hugh-tech…

The price of the Water Powered Clock is $12.99.
