It seems that Samsung has won the battle in trying to be the first on the market with the new wave of 3D-ready 240Hz LCD HDTVs as the company is already offering a few models for everyone interested, although they will be interesting mostly for early adopters and S3D enthusiasts at this point. Amazon already has a few models from the new C7000 product line of 240Hz LED-based LCD TVs available, these are the 46-Inch Samsung UN46C7000 1080p 240Hz LED HDTV with a price of $2,599.99 USD and the 55-Inch Samsung UN55C7000 1080p 240Hz LED HDTV with a price of $3,299.99 USD. The smallest 40-inch Samsung UN40C7000 still hasn’t been listed, but it will most likely will appear soon with an expected price range of about $1,999.99 USD.

However you should be very well aware of the fact that that these 3D-ready HDTVs from Samsung do not come with shutter glasses bundled, so you’ll have to buy these at a later time when they become available and that is probably about $150 USD additional cost per pair. And if you are wondering where you’ll be getting 3D video content at this time, do not worry that much as these new Samsung TVs should be able to convert 2D videos to 3D, but there are not a lot of details on how this autoconversion is being done. However it is most likely using DDD’s 2D to 3D algorithm that is a also available in their TriDef software for PC as Samsung has licensed it from DDD to feature in their 3D-capable TVs.

The price of the new 3D-ready HDTVs starts at $1,999.99 + about $150 USD per pair of shutter glasses you’ll also need to buy separately.
