This a bit strange looking Japanese MP3 player may not win a design award, but that is beside the point, because it has a different idea behind it. This time the guys from Thanko turned up with a MP3 player that can be recharged with hand cranking if you don’t have a PC with a free USB or a power adapter nearby. The player has 1GB built in memory and supports playback of MP3 and WMA music files with 32 to 250 kbps bitrate and as an additional feature you get a built-in flashlight.

In just about a minute cranking the built in hand crank you’ll get up to ten minutes of music playback from the device and by a bit more (or maybe a lot) you’ll be able to recharge the battery to maximum, but don’t expect too much, because the capacity of the rechargeable battery isn’t too high. Anyway this music player utilizes a good eco-friendly idea and if it gets a bit optimized and enhanced it … [ Read the rest of the story ]

If you still fancy a good old retro alarm clock you’ll like this cool product by Thanko Japan. This gadget looks just like a real retro alarm clock, but it has MP3 support and a USB plug that allows you to customize its alarm sound. You just need to connect the USB cable to your PC and upload a short MP3 music file to the clock that you want to be played back when it is time for the alarm to sound. The software is pretty simple and easy, and the only downside is that there is no snooze button, but that’s now such a big problem anyway. That is because you have to flip a switch on the back of the clock in order to stop the alarm and in order to do this you’ll have to be pretty much awake, but the best part that you’ll wake you to the sound you choose. The MP3 clock is also a great gift idea for everyone.

Outi earphones clip comfortably and securely outside the ears, providing comfortable and quite nice new look and feel. And because these headphones are not inserted into the ear, they avoid damaging the listener’s hearing as past generations of earphones have done…

Outi earphones plug into any MP3, iPod, portable CD and DVD player, most cell phones, gaming systems, radios or any other audio/visual device with a standard 3.5mm jack.
